[GO-NGO Partnership Forum with Bangladeshi Government’s NEC and INGO Forum Member Organizations] On September 11th, the Heart to Heart Foundation Bangladesh branch hosted a GO-NGO Partnership Forum, extending invitations to key representatives from the Bangladesh government's National Eye Care (NEC) and the International Non-Government Organization (INGO) Forum.). The forum commenced with an opening speech by Moon Hu-jeong, Program Director of the International Program Department at the Heart to Heart Foundation. Siyeon Lee from the Korea International Cooperation Agency and Golam Mostafa, NEC Line Director and Principal, delivered their remarks. Yuddha Sapkota, Southeast Asia Regional Coordinator of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), initiated the program and shared valuable insights on the current status of global eye care initiatives. The subsequent discussions revolved around NEC's Vision Center operations and future plans. Additionally, we had the opportunity to share the successful collaboration between the Heart to Heart Foundation and the Bangladesh NEC in reinforcing primary health facilities, a crucial step towards the sustainable development of vision centers. Munir Ahmed, Chairman of INGO Forum that brought attention to the distinctions between Vision Center operations within governmental and non-governmental organizations through an external model presentation. In the round table session, led by Khaleda Islam, general manager of the NEC action plan, delivered the future execution plans of the NEC were presented. Golam Mostafa, the Head of NEC led the discussions were held regarding the direction of the NEC. This forum has proved to be a significant platform for strengthening and fostering partnerships and collaborations in the realm of public health between government and non-government organizations in Bangladesh. The meeting facilitated a valuable exchange of ideas, offering opportunities to enhance Vision Center operations, improve public health, and foster better relationships and communication between these previously less-connected entities. Looking ahead, we aspire to continue building a robust platform for ongoing communication between the government and non-government organizations. This will further enhance the effectiveness of our collaborations and partnerships. The Heart to Heart Foundation stands as a vital bridge between the government and non-government sectors in Bangladesh, setting the stage for future initiatives.
