Sreinich is a boy, the youngest out of three siblings in his family. He visited a hospital when he started to show difficulty in breathing last September. He was diagnosed with congenital heart disease which can be cured only by surgery.
But since his parents who farm for living earned less than 2 dollars a day, his parents could not afford an expense of the surgery. While Sreinich was waiting for help with putting his name on a waiting list for operation, he was able to undergo a surgery by the support from Heart to Heart Foundation which conducted 'Hug Cambodia' Campaign.
Because he was in a serious condition, he had to have a surgery as soon as possible. He immediately operated right after we decided to support his medical fee. The surgery was successful. Sreinich's mother appreciated our help, saying that it was fortunate that Sreinich could breathe comfortably.
Sochea is a five-year-old girl from an ordinary family whose parents do farming in a rural area. Her family has been too poor to go to a hospital for the treatment, even though she was frequently sick since she was seven-month old.
Then at the age of four, she was rushed to a hospital with severe breathing difficulty and cough. While going from one hospital to another to find out its causes for the symptom, it turned out that she suffered from a heart disease called 'patent ductus arteriosus'.
However, Sochea's family barely yearns less than 3 dollars a day. As it was not enough to prepare a meal for the family, it was impossible to save money for her surgery. One day her parents heard about medical supports for children with heart disease and came all the way to Siem Reap which is located more than 600 km away from their village.
Sochea now has a more brightened face after the surgery and says that it is the most pleasant thing in the world to be able to run around freely with her friends.

Manichi (1 year old, female) was diagnosed with a heart disease in a month after her birth. When she first came to the hospital, she was suffering from malnutrition, having a difficulty of breathing and swallowing.
Even though a doctor took measures such as wearing a respirator and feeding her through a nose tube, the treatments couldn't solve her fundamental problem.
Although Manichi needed to have a cardial surgery, her poor parents had to wait until they had a financial support, while putting her name on a waiting list for a heart surgery.
After a one-year wait...
Manichi's mother was so delighted on the day when she was able to undergo the surgery by receiving a financial aid through fund-raising campaign, "Hug Cambodia". Compared to other children of her age, Manichi had been smaller. But she has become healthier and bigger after the surgery. We hope her to grow well and be happy.
