‘Make Vision Count!’
--- Heart-to-Heart Foundation Malawi recently hosted the ‘2017 World Sight Day Commemoration’ on Thursday, November 30t0h, together with community members, primary school students, and government officials of Machinga district as well as guests of honor. The 2017 WSD commemoration held at Mchema Primary School was filled with crowd-pulling performances. Sauda Rogers, a mother of two who received TT surgery earlier this year, testified to the life-changing experience of the surgery. STD 1 learners from Chiyemebekezo primary school performed their own fantastic dances and chants while the traditional chiefs from TA Mlomba graced the finale with ‘Chindimba’ dance. All participants expressed their yearning for a world without preventable blindness through poems, dances, dramas, and songs. Heart-to-Heart Foundation Malawi has been supporting surgery camps, personal hygiene education, and construction of WASH infrastructure in primary schools across Machinga district in its fight against blinding Trachoma since 2015. The commemoration this year was even more meaningful in light of the branch’s latest achievement on reaching TT cases. HtHF together with the people of Machinga district who have shown undying determination, will stand strong in its fight against blinding Trachoma in year 2018 as well. Please join us in our global fight against preventable blindness!
