Heart to Heart International in collaboration with L’Occitane is conducting school based eye diseases and trachoma prevention project in Tanzania where primary school students in difficult and environment vulnerable to eye diseases are supported with quality eye care services in Mtwara district. During this program implementation eye medical personnel team visits schools to conduct eye screening, treatment and provide glasses for free. Total of 1,200 students are expected to be screened by medical personnel, 200 students to be supported surgeries and more than 50 students to be provided with glasses. Most of students in rural area are suffering from eye diseases due to environment difficulties such as lack of water and lack of eye medical personnel in their area. The difficulties in their family’s economic situation are also one of major reason not to reach timely eye care services. By conducting this program Heart to Heart International is brining eye care services to the students and help keeping their studies with happiness on their face.
