and launching of new 5 years national eye health strategic plan in dodoma,

Heart to Heart International(HHI) has been supporting the improvement of Eye Health System in Tanzania for the purpose of providing reliable eye health care to Tanzanian. On 7th October 2018, HHI together with other development partners supported the commencement of commemoration of World Sight Day in Tanzania capital city of Dodoma which was conducted for 5 days. During those 5 days of World Sight Day residence of Dodoma region had a chance to receive reliable eye care services for free. Dodoma is one of the areas in Tanzania where there are serious eye problems, for these 5 days (7th ~ 11th October 2018) residence of Dodoma received eye health care services for free where all treatments expenses have been supported by HHI in collaboration with other development partners.

Apart from World Sight Day, Ministry of Health National Eye Care Program used the chance of commemoration of World Sight Day to launch New 5 year National Eye Health Strategic Plan. HHI have been one among the key player on the development of the New 5 year National Eye Health Strategic Plan 2018~2022 which will be guiding all eye health activities in Tanzania that will be carried out by government and development partners (NGO’s). HHI participated on new strategic plan to ensure that Eye Health System in Tanzania will be improved to the required standard.
