Heart-to-Heart Orchestra of the youth having intellectual disabilities, the first orchestra of its kind in Korea, conducted China tour. 

The concert organized by the invitation of the Chinese Charitable General Assembly has taken place touring Shanghai, Qindao and Beijing from Apr. 13 to 18. The melodies made by the youth with intellectual disabilities overcoming disabilities brought dream and hope to the disabled in both countries and impression and love to the Chinese and Korean audiences living in China. 

Particularly the performance at 21 century theatre in Beijing for 1,700 audiences was with the singer Nara Jang who are doing activities in China and the famous Chinese singer Chishan Hwang. Both of them stood on the stage having meaningful time to send the message of understanding and awareness improvement towards the disabled.

Nara Jang who hosted and sang at the concert said, “I think the members would play well as they practice hard. I’m so proud of them playing in front of Chinese audiences.” and encouraged the members who were tired from the concert tour. 

Hwaosehwa, the executive director of Chinese Charitable General Assembly and general director of Beijing performance said, “It's so amazing for the youth having disabilities to be able to play music so outstandingly. Many Chinese were impressed from the performance.”

The members of Heart-to-Heart Orchestra have 6 to 7 years old mental age and they feel hard if they sit longer than 5 minutes because of their intellectual disabilities.

Since the founding in 2006 they’ve been making new rehabilitation model for the disabled with intellectual disabilities through over 50 times of performances including four times of regular concert, US tour, awareness improvement concert by Seoul City government, The Visiting Concert and Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival. 

The China tour was sponsored by “Mr. Pizza” and “Kumho Asiana” to promote the disable’s social activities.
