2016 Joint World Conference on Social Worker, Education and Social Development that is a symposium for the world’s social workers was held for the first time in Korea on the biggest scale. The convention this time was taken place from June 27 for 3 nights and 4 days at Coex in Samsung-dong with the theme ‘the dignity of human and improvement of the value’.
About 3,000 people consisting of academics, practitioners, policy makers in the field of social welfare from 80 countries participated in the convention, and it was more meaningful as Heart-to-Heart Orchestra played at the opening ceremony.
The welcoming messages from the president Gunhae Park, UN Secretary General Kimoon Ban, the committee chairman Heungbong Cha preceded the performance, and global agendas proposing sustainable development were presented by the social welfare professionals from five regions in the world.
There was a special stage to celebrate the joint world conference, which is solo performance and collaboration by the professional trumpet soloist Hangyeol Lee who showed all his skills he has improved so far.
The stage of Heart-to-Heart Orchestra was the chance to present how much the members with developmental disabilities have grown and changed through the 10 years of constant orchestra activities in front of the people researching and practicing social welfare from all over the world!
We hope that the performance would be left as a special memory and impression to many people and they would show another possibilities and vision through Heart-to-Heart Orchestra.
Constant attention and encouragement would be appreciated in order for the youth having developmental disabilities to have their dream of self-reliance come true through music!
