Seeking Social Integration of the People with Developmental
Disabilities through Cultural Welfare

A seminar was held on November 9th, 2015 at the Korea Press Center to
draw attention to the developmental disability in advance of the enforcement
of Developmental Disabilities Support Act on November 21th, 2015.
The seminar which was hosted by Heart to Heart Foundation and sponsored by Ministry of Culture,
Sports and Tourism, Art Council Korea, and Ministry of Health and Welfare was held.
This seminar opened with Public Relations Ambassador, Sharon Park, of Heart to Heart Foundation.
In the first part, we have held the 'The Inauguration Ceremony of Network'
for development disabled people for social integration of development disabled people
through continuous cooporation with 15 organizations which carry out cultural welfare projects.
In the first part, Insook Shin, director of Heart to Heart Foundation,
did welcome greeting; She hopes to spread culture welfare for
developmental disabled people through continuous cooperation.
After that, Kangyang Koo, director of Daejeon Seogu Community Rehabilitation Center for the Disabled,
did greeting as a representative of network organizations;
Through the launch of the cultural welfare network for people with developmental disabilities,
it is meaingful to have this time that everyone can have the right enjoy culture without division of area.
We conveyed blue color scarf adding our expectation:
united cultural welfare for developmental disabled people through the declaration
of the launch of the Cultural Welfare Network for people with developmental disabilities.

In the second part, we shared the result of reinforcement of abililty of developmental disabled people
and positive awareness about the disabled spread, through culture welfare business.
In addition, we sought together the direction of improvement and individual, social,
political support, which is focused on integrating people into society by culture of developmental disabled people.
Hyunteak Shin, a direction of Secho Culture Foundation, did greeting;
He hopes that developmental disabled people can enjoy culture and have benefits.
Next, Kangchul Hee, a professor of Graduate School of Social Welfare of Yonsei University,
led presentation of topic and comprehensive discussion as a chairman.
The fist session: The influence of Activity of Gruop Music on Developmental Disabled People,
their Family and Society.
We shared practice and the result subjected The Effectiveness of Heart to Heart orchestra of
People with Developmental Disabilities(Mi-oek Kim, a professor, the Department of Social Welfare of Cheon Buk National University)
and The Effectiveness of Activity of Group music of Developmental Disabled children.
The second session: The Activity of Recognition Improvement through
Independent Participation of Developmental Disabled People.
We shared the welfare model case of new field finding a possibility of developmental disabled
people integration participating developmental disabled person, through the presentation of
(DonThe Effectiveness of Disability Understanding Education 'Heart Happy School'
(Dongmyung Seo, a professor of the Department of Social Welfare of Dong-duk Women's University) and
Development of standardized Developmental Disability Education model
(Dongil Kim, a professor of the Department of Education of Seoul National University).
The last session: Comprehensive discussion with Debater and
researcher for Social Integration through Culture Welfare of Developmental Disabled People.
Injeong Heo, direction of Arts & Community Network, Dongki Kim,
a professor of the Department of Social Welfare of Mokwon University, kuiyeom Ko,
Team manager of Occupation Development of Korea Disabled people's Development Institute, Jeonghan Hong,
a art teacher of Disability Understanding Education(developmental disabled person) participated in the discussion.
They sought the challenge and directivity to prepare 10 years to come, over achievement of 10 years so far.
We would like to express our gratitude to all those who participated in.
We hope that we will continue to be interested in self-reliance, social integration,
and rights of people with developmental disabilities.
The Heart to Heart Foundation will continue to work hard to make life better for people with developmental disabilities.
